Self-Reflection for the Week

Posted on 16. Nov, 2009 by Trinidad Hunt in Reflection

QmanPlasticThis has been a lovely time in my life. I have been doing quite a bit of reflecting lately. It has given me the opportunity to review my life lessons and glean the wisdom from them.

So the question for this week is: If you had the opportunity to mentor someone younger then yourself, and you could share three life wisdom lessons that you have learned so far, what would they be?

I would love to hear your responses on this one….

Once again, Aloha from the beautiful islands of Hawaii, Trinidad

My sharing of life wisdom lessons would be as follows:

    1. Your true path may not be what you imagined – remain open to the gifts and opportunities that present themselves. The further or more that you resist your true path, the more difficult life becomes. Embrace change and trust your inner voice.
    2. Do not give energy to things or situations that you cannot change. Acknowledge it, embrace it, look for the gift or lesson, sit in the middle of it to try and determine what it means for you in a bigger picture way, then express your gratitude for it and let it go.
    3. Always, always look for the gifts and life lessons in every situation, relationship or event, whether it is something wonderful and fun or extremely difficult and sad.

Thank you Trin – this exercise took me to a place of immense gratitude and brought me smiles.

    Love and hugs,
    Marni

      Marni,
Thank you for the thought provoking response. I was inspired by your depth and heart, especially to the idea that “your true path may not be what you imagined – remain open to the gifts and opportunities that present themselves.”
This idea that we should all remain open to what shows up in life is something that has been a guiding light in my life.

Thank you for who you are… Trin
